Congresswoman Alma Adams Votes Against Transparency in National Security
Once again, Congresswoman Alma Adams has failed the people of North Carolina’s 12th District—this time by voting against H.R. 275, the "Special Interest Alien Reporting Act of 2025." This critical bipartisan bill would require the Department of Homeland Security to publicly report monthly on the number of "special interest aliens"—individuals from high-risk countries who may pose national security threats—attempting to illegally enter the United States.
What H.R. 275 Would Do:
- Mandate monthly transparency reports on encounters with special interest aliens, including their nationalities and where they were apprehended (ports of entry, border crossings, or interior enforcement).
- Disclose potential security risks, including whether these individuals come from adversarial nations like China, Russia, or Iran.
- Provide historical data from 2021-2025 to give Americans a full picture of the Biden administration’s border failures.
Yet, Adams voted NO—choosing to side with secrecy over the safety of her constituents.
Why This Matters for NC-12:
Our communities deserve to know who is entering our country unchecked. With rising concerns about terrorism, drug trafficking, and crime tied to illegal immigration, transparency is not optional—it’s a necessity. By opposing this bill, Adams has:
- Ignored national security risks that could impact North Carolinians.
- Rejected accountability for the Biden administration’s open-border policies.
- Failed to stand up for law enforcement working to keep us safe.
A Pattern of Dangerous Votes
This isn’t the first time Adams has voted against commonsense security measures. Whether it’s opposing border enforcement, defunding ICE, or blocking efforts to deport criminal aliens, she consistently puts partisan loyalty ahead of public safety.
The 12th District deserves a representative who will demand transparency, secure our borders, and prioritize American safety. Alma Adams has proven, yet again, that she is not that leader.
